About Lizzy
Hey there, I’m Lizzy Ott (she/her). I’m a WA state licensed acupuncturist and am nationally certified through the NCCAOM. I received my masters in Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine at the Seattle Institute for East Asian Medicine. While in school, I focused my research on painful menstrual cycles and postpartum care. I also received advanced mentorship in fertility and reproductive health. My own experiences with pregnancy loss and ultimately a healthy live birth to my sweet little baby have profoundly informed my ability to care for people moving through the questions and process of reproduction.
I’m honored to be a practitioner of a medicine outside of my own Celtic English European ancestral lineage, and take seriously the responsibility of carrying ancient East Asian teachings into the west today. I also reverently acknowledge that I live and practice on unceded Duwamish and Coast Salish land.
About my approach
My approach to patient care is grounded in the knowing that each person’s system has an inherent capacity for healing. I see every treatment as an opportunity to help my patients tune into their own elegant internal systems of restoration.
As an herbalist and acupuncturist, I incorporate a variety of Chinese and Japanese techniques and diagnostic perspectives into treatments. My needling style is gentle. As a health coach and nutritionist, I encourage simple and nourishing daily practices of self tending.
I consider not only the physical, but the many societal, systemic, environmental, and spiritual factors that go into each person’s state of being. I’m committed to continuously learning how to approach patient care from an anti-racist, trauma informed, and body positive perspective.
